Hi friends! It’s been quite a lot since my last posting, but finally I have found something not-boring to share with you. Some of you may know I’ve recently get married with my boyfriend Cristian. Let me tell you that it was about time to do so: we’ve been together for more than 9 years now!!
Anyway, the chosen day was the 21st. of September, which is the beginning of the Spring season in the South Pole. We wanted to get married in a special day, and we’ve always regarded springtime as the most beautiful part of the year, full of new life, birds, flowers, new green everywhere.
Luckily, it was a great day, but a little bit chilly. I`m posting some pictures as well, just to give you a visual idea of what was everything like. The civil ceremony was nice, and all my friends and relatives managed to attend to it. Since both my parents and my husband’s parents were chosen to be witnesses of the marriage, everyone showed deep emotion, and in certain parts of the ceremony (particularly that one in which we gave to each other the rings), some of them burst into tears (good ones, of course!!). Later, when we stepped out the office, everyone threw us rice as a desire of luck and prosperity for our union. Isn’t it a curious tradition?? Would it be the same in other countries?
After the "husband and wife" declaration, we made a tour to some beautiful places in Rosario, like the Flag Memorial, the Independence Park and other, all just to take the traditional wedding-day pictures.
Then came the real party, which was held in an assembly room named "Los Rieles", placed in front of the Independence Park. Again, all those people who we love were there, looking happy and finely dressed up. We made our appearance from behind some velvet red curtains when the Beatle`s "All you need is love" song gave its first chores of "love, love, love".
We tasted some delicious meals and enjoyed ourselves with some excellent bred Argentinean wines (Sirah and Tempranillo were the red wines, and Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay the white ones).
Since neither Cristian, my husband, nor I are very traditional people, we replace the vals dance with a rock `n roll of The Beatles!!! Everyone was delighted, and even Cristian's 86-years-old grandmother couldn’t stop dancing until the party was over.
All in all, it was a perfect night that we’ll remember forever!! After the party was over, we’ve had to hurry because that very same night we had a plane to Brazil to catch. But friends, that’s should be another chapter of this story!!! Hugs to all!!
